Engineered Oak
This type of flooring has been designed to be 'ultra' stable. It is manufactured using a 170mm wide single plank formed from a 7mm thick veneer of solid character grade oak, which is bonded to a 14mm layer of plywood. This combination of cross grains within the structure ensures an extremely strong, stable and versatile flooring product. The overall depth of the planks is 21mm making it fully load bearing and thus able to be laid and secret nailed directly onto floor joists. Engineered oak can be bonded directly onto a concrete or existing wooden sub floor, floated or secret nailed onto either floor joists, battens or an existing wooden floor. The 7mm wear layer of oak can be re-sanded up to 5 times, allowing the same maintenance and up-keep flexibility as a solid oak floor. |

The planks are supplied in random lengths between 0.5m and 2.5m with the majority 1.8m to 2.1m long. They are tongue and grooved all round with a micro bevel and any holes or knots are filled and sanded. The boards are unfinished, leaving the choice of sealing and staining to the customer.
