The strange thing about patio stones is you never think you'll have enough...
Indian Stone paving slabs stack really well and you can question your ability to use a tape measure when they're delivered.
This was the case with Annabel and John's patio.
"I was getting worried that we would have to get another delivery and redesign everything, but it was just a big optical illusion - as it turned out, there were only a couple of off-cuts left over at the end - Mark Bentley at the Paving Centre measured it exactly right!" said John.
Gavin Shute and his team worked tirelessly through the March 2006 snows and slowly the patio began to take shape.
"We had a bit of difficulty with the drains cover," explained Gavin. "It was already set in the old patio and stones had been placed inside it so it weighted a ton!
Gavin had to lift the cover, build up a base around the hole and then replace the cover with new stones, designed to match the surrounding ones.
