Wide board solid oak flooring
Wide plank solid oak flooring has been used for centuries as a highly desireable and durable flooring product. Today, original reclaimed oak boards are highly prized, very expensive and very hard to find. The North West Paving Centre source 21mm thick sold oak boards in the traditional sizes which emulate those from a bygone age.The boards are particularly suited to a wide range of projects including conservation, renovation, refurbishment and barn conversions. They are also enjoying increased popularity in new build and the general housing market as a hygienic, natural and durable alternative to carpet. |

Our flooring is kiln dried to between 8% and 10% making it suitable for laying with underfloor heating and is supplied tongue and grooved (end matching or square edged available on request)
Our high standard of machining ensures that only a light sanding and filling is required before treating. We would recommend that a specialist flooring fitter is used when laying solid floors as they are generally familiar with acclimatisation, fixing methods, underfloor heating and finishing and sealing.
Character Grade
The small dead knots, sound knots and occasional face shakes seen here are typical within this grade. They will require no major treatment and give the finished floor the traditional look so sought after.
Rustic Grade
Rustic - the open knots, occasional face shakes, sapwood and odd dead worm hole within the rustic grade will require filling if desired (some of the holes will go all the way through the plank as shown opposite). However the appearance of these irregularities enhances the look of the planks, which are more often than not, used in buildings where original floor boards would have exhibited the same characteristics.
